Piers
Our piers are built to last. We believe in using good
strong quality lumber. We build them with 2.5 CCA (maximum allowed) pressure
treated pilings with 8 inch butts, 2X8 decking and framing. All of our sills
& framing are bolted through the pilings using 5/8 galvanized bolts. We
drive the pilings in the ground (large end down) using a 700 pound hammer
with our pile driver for maximum effectiveness.
The length and width of piers can vary depending on the customer’s
particular needs. They can be built with or without a pier head. Pier heads
are platforms that are built to the right, left or they can form what is
called a T at the end of the pier and can also vary is size. We can install
hand railing along the pier, pier head and steps for added safety. Mooring
poles, which are pilings driven away from the pier used for tying or mooring
your vessel, can also be installed during the construction of your pier.
Floating Docks
Floating
docks come in lots of different sizes. They are installed
attached to pilings with hoops & rollers so they rise and fall
with the tide changes. They are ideal when added to an existing
pier for easier manageability with your boat, kayak or canoe. A
floating dock ladder can be added for more convenience. You'll
need a ramp or walkway to access your floating dock if attaching
to your pier. The walkway can be wood or aluminum as shown in
the pictures. |
